    • About the role

    Liaising with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager, you'll direct and deliver high-quality nursing care to our clients.

    Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading and supervising support provision for daily living in accordance with each residents care/ service plan
  • Leading and promoting social and physical engagement in all resident interactions
  • Assessing resident's condition and functional ability and ensuring risks are identified, managed and evaluated, discussed with relevant staff/each resident or representatives and included in their care and service planning
  • Ensuring optimal use of medications, monitoring for adversity and administering in a timely and safe manner
  • Providing leadership, direction, support, mentoring and coaching to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance and Administration staff on each shift
  • Ensuring there is a clear and succinct handover from shift to shift and relevant documentation in the 7 day handover sheet correlate with the progress notes, alert notification form, care plan suggested change forms and risk management plans
  • Ensuring all staff read and comply with all policies, procedures and work instructions relevant to them

    The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse
  • Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse in an aged care environment
  • Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand, as well as the ability to read written instructions and to write clearly and concisely particularly in progress notes
  • Exceptional time management skills to manage own workload to meet deadlines and to support other staff
  • Outstanding problem solving skills to balance supporting resident's desire for independence and self determination to make their own choices against potential risks and duty of care
  • High level understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours
  • Understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimum levels of funding are achieved
  • Excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge including of medicines used in aged care
  • Excellent knowledge of the Aged Care Standards particularly as they relate to accreditation
