About the role:

As our Strategic Enablement Lead you will partner with the procurement team and business leadership to improve the enterprise-wide procurement, supply chain and inventory management processes.


  • Lead and support the team to develop frameworks, processes, roadmap and tools to improve enterprise procurement and supply chain maturity.
  • Lead and own the management and mitigation of risks associated with audit activities, the provision of quality, customerfocused operation change management, and work with the procurement and business leads to identify initiatives to produce tangible benefits and mitigation.
  • Lead the management of optimisation projects and identification of priorities to implement improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal management system requirements, responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities.
  • Proven ability to influence, manage and develop team members and drive effective outcomes in a fastchanging environment.
  • Lead the identification and implementation of improvement activities utilising the enterprise specified change and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Lead the analysis of project and operational requirements, investigate innovative solutions and provide guidance to managers and employees.
  • Coordinate the review and reporting of initiative progress to senior management and/or stakeholders.
  • Lead the team to support the delivery of operational strategy and oversee its implementation.
  • Drive and maintain effective working relationships with customers, internal and external clients at a middle management level to ensure improvement initiatives are in keeping with wider business objectives.

About you:


  • Significant operational knowledge of relevant heavy industry (such as rail).
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain delivery performance principals.
  • Demonstrated skills in Procurement and Supply Chain management built on a deep understanding of the endtoend procurement lifecycle including process, people, governance, technology, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills through appropriate methods, strong communication skills and with a flexible interpersonal style in building cohesive and effective operational working relationships within the organisation, with external parties to ensure the delivery of consistent, efficient, and highquality service.
  • Strong commercial acumen in understanding the business impacts of decisions on a financial, people, operations and supplier level while remaining aware of potential related issues which may arise.
  • High level skills in defining and articulating complex business problems, related opportunities and formulated evidencebased value propositions which accelerate business transformation and meet business objectives.
  • Significant experience working in relevant heavy industry (i.e. 10 years)
  • Project management qualification/s.
  • Experience in an internal consultant role as a Procurement or Supply Chain Centre of Excellence leader in a large, or ASXlisted organisation.
  • Experience as a Procurement or Supply Chain consultant at a Tier 1 or 2 professional services firm (preferred).
