About Us:


Department of Government Services brings together Digital Victoria, Service Victoria, Local Government Victoria, Consumer Affairs Victoria, the grant program centre and consolidates procurement policy, and whole of Victorian government telecommunications policy as well as the Working With Children Checks and Births, Deaths and Marriages.

Oversight of Cenitex and the Public Record Office Victoria also transfers to DGS.


About the Role:


This position is responsible for leading the information & data insights function, within I&A Branch, to support CAV's strategic and operational market interventions.

In order to produce good intelligence, analysts need good data.


Some of your key duties will include:

  • Overseeing the documentation of CAV's data and information requirements and work with other areas of CAV to develop and implement the framework for CAV's data and information management.
  • Identifying and accessing new information sources; negotiate information sharing arrangements with external government and private sector organisations and ensure appropriate internal controls to meet privacy and other requirements.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure information products are fit for purpose and can be effectively used in compliance decision making.

About you:


  • A sophisticated understanding of, and ability to manage people and processes associated with information collection, data management, data visualisation and analysis, including identifying opportunities for the development and deployment of information architecture, preferably in an intelligence and/or regulatory environment or similar organisational context.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in information and data management, data driven intelligence or extensive experience in a similar field would be a desirable.

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal.

This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).


Acceptable evidence includes:


  • COVID19 digital certificate (available via your myGov account)
  • Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
