range of policy and programs with a Health Technology Assessment (HTA) focus to facilitate

patient access to cost effective treatments that improve health outcomes. Key

responsibilities include:

  • Providing policy advice to the Minister on the integration of genomic medicine in the
Australian health care system and implementing of policy, programs, legislation to

budget impacts and monitoring of expenditure and patterns of use. This is done to ensure

PBS listings remain consistent with the initial evidence on clinical and cost-effectiveness

accepted by the PBAC at the time the medicine was listed.

The Section also has responsibility for oversight of a number of data development projects

- disciplinary team, that will be involved in providing support to the DUSC including the
preparation of utilisation reviews of drugs listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme
(PBS), preparation of agenda papers and stakeholder management.

These are exciting opportunities to contribute to the understanding of how subsidised drugs
are used and managed in Australia and contribute to management of the PBS.

that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing or non-ongoing) within the Division and
