Job Description:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Fitter is a key member of the Site based team.

The Fitter will be a hands on operational role, with responsibility for partnering with the OEM equipment providers (Amut and Starlinger) on the installation and commissioning of this Greenfields site.

Post successful commissioning, this role has accountability for the ongoing performance and running of the equipment.


About this opportunity


The position will provide hands on support on all aspects of maintenance and upkeep of all manufacturing assets, the maintenance budget, managing contractors and helping execute strategies to enhance the performance of the maintenance function and related assets.

This position will drive the continuous improvement of all maintenance to support operational improvement goals.


You will build and maintain a collaborative relationship between maintenance and production, ensuring effective support to the Area Managers and their teams in executing safety, quality and operational improvements.


Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical failures of plant and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustained
  • Actively support the implementation of capital projects
  • Demonstrate genuine safetyfirst leadership, leading by example
  • Ensuring reliability and maintainability of all equipment is at or above target levels
  • Plan and manage all maintenance work effectively with production, ensuring mínimal disruption and downtime as possible
  • Conduct route cause analysis and investigations of safety incidents, environmental incidents, and breakdowns.
  • Periodically review all parts holdings on site to ensure they are up to date and stock records are accurate
  • Assess critical assets on an ongoing basis and implement defined actions to mitigate or minimise business risk
  • Planning and executing shutdowns

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • 5-10 years in a similar position
  • Experience in Plastics manufacturing and/or recycling highly desirable
  • Prior experience in latest technology and automation within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in installation and commissioning of similar sized projects
  • Superior communication skills. (from shop floor to leadership team)
  • Demonstrated ability in managing a preventative maintenance schedule
  • Proven ability to problem solve for emergency maintenance and repair

Qualifications:


  • Trade qualified fitter and turner or similar
