About QIMR Berghofer:
QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute is focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer Research, Infection and Inflammation, Mental Health and Neuroscience, and Population Health.
Cancer Research Program
The Cancer Research Program comprises of 22 research groups with a leading role in fundamental cancer research, bench-to-bed, translational and clinical cancer research that drives excellence in cancer care.
The Queensland Cancer Centre, a new word class cancer hospital will be built within the precinct by 2028.
It will include a full range of research, education and training facilities which will support continued and strengthen partnerships with the Institute.
What are we looking for?
We are currently seeking to employ outstanding independent researcher/s (Faculty) with a track record of success in publications and attracting externally competitive grant funding.
- Molecular biology especially new technology platforms, single cell, spatial transcriptional analysis
- Novel and/or unique cancer models with evidence of high impact knowledge gain or clinical translation
- Applied genomics and/or bioinformatics
- Clinical and translational research
- Cancer immunology or fundamental immunology with a link to understanding cancer immunotherapy

- Track record of independent research grant funding success. Please provide details of all grants held as CIA in the last five years
- Expertise in cancer research and suitability for the program, specifically linked to the aforementioned priority areas
- Contribution to discipline and peer review
