- Ensure payroll processes and procedures are adhered to
- Drive process improvement and change management
- Ensure payroll compliance including Enterprise Agreements and relevant Industrial Awards, Policies, legislation etc
- Coach, train, develop and mentor junior payroll team members
- Ensuring payroll queries are responded to in a timely manner
- Other ad hoc tasks
- Demonstrated payroll experience, including end to end processing of large, complex payrolls, processing of termination pays, leave analysis, Monthly and Annual Statutory calculations, workers compensation, salary packaging, superannuation, Award/EBA understanding and year-end processing
- Ability to supervise, coach and lead staff in high performing and complex teams to achieve exceptional results
- Demonstrated knowledge of and interpretation of current and future legislation which directly affect the payroll function i.e. tax and superannuation legislation
- High-level organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
