The role

  • Quickly explore and understand complex technical systems, processes and an evolving data landscape
  • Generate high quality technical analysis; define and document business logic and map data from divergent source systems
  • Work with external stakeholders, project teams and internal SME's to effectively document business rules and technical definitions
  • Influence projects to reduce their impact on data and perform monitoring and reconciliations during key releases/migrations
  • Track and report measures of data quality to inform and drive behaviours across all business units
  • Develop data quality assets such as master data, reference data, dashboards, monitoring, profiling, business glossaries and lineage
  • Play an active role in reducing risk of potential privacy issues and perform related root cause analysis to support and advise during incident resolution

About you

  • A blank page doesn't scare you you focus on solutions even when faced with ambiguity
  • You have a knack for translating, be it between technical and nontechnical teams, different departments or businesses
  • You take the time to identify potential 'gotchas' early to avoid delays/blockers at a latestage
  • You're a strong communicator able to build collaborative relationships quickly
  • A good sense of humour and an ability to express yourself through gifs and memes

Essential:


  • Experience using relational databases and analytic tools such as SQL, R or Python to extract meaning from complex data sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy robust analytical assets (automated or repeated processes, general purpose view/table structures supporting analytics/insights). I.e., not just the generation of insights from a curated view of data.
  • Experience building selfservice visualisation tools (Power BI) and underlying data assets (star schemas, materialised views).
  • Experience working with cloudbased analytics platforms
  • Understanding of data governance principles, including access control policies, data catalogues/dictionaries and the concept of critical data elements.
  • Ability to simplify the complex and confidently present insights back to the business, and guide stakeholders on the best approach to selfserving to solve an analytical problem
  • Experience working in an agile organisation, and familiarity with sprint cadences, Jira & Confluence.

Desired:


  • Previous work experience with the Databricks platform (highly desirable)
  • Exposure to regulatory, financial and/or operational reporting
