About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Cloud FinOps Analyst within the Cloud and Technology Services Team of the Information Services Directorate.


The Cloud FinOps Analyst will undertake a range of activities relating to monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the capacity, consumption and costs associated with the Department's Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.

This role plays an important role in balancing cost with business value as we scale our cloud footprint.

Reporting to the Team Leader Cloud and Technology Services, your key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing AWS billing reports, usage data and providing recommendations to optimise spend.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to implement tagging strategies and budgets.
  • Building reports and dashboards for cloud cost visibility across business units.
  • Identifying opportunities for savings such as rightsizing resources or leveraging AWS pricing models and RI utilisation.
  • Promoting a culture of cloud cost transparency and accountability


We are looking for someone experienced in cloud financial operations, with strong analytical abilities and cross-team collaboration skills to influence behaviours.


Special Conditions
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.


Remuneration
ASO5 - $84,522 to $94,003 per annum
