Client Details
Our client is a well-established organisation representing nurses, midwives, and assistants in nursing. It aims to improve working conditions and patient care, providing professional development, industrial relations support and lobbying services.


Description

The key accountabilities include:

  • Lead as a principal advocate for the Branch, presenting cases and representing members in relevant forums. Coordinate staff attendance at hearings and brief counsels.
  • Supervise and manage a team of Organisers by creating a collaborative and effective team environment, setting clear direction, fostering open communication, developing team members, and managing daytoday industrial operations. Provide advice and support, acknowledge success, and promote accountability.
  • Negotiate with employers on industrial and employee relations matters, including general employment conditions and specific.
  • Identify collective action and campaign opportunities aligned with the brand's strategic priorities. Collaborate with relevant staff and advance actions as needed.
  • Working collaboratively with Occupational Health and Safety, professional and statewide officers.
  • Attend Brand Council meetings as required and contribute to monthly reports of industrial activities to Branch Council.

Profile
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Hold Tertiary Qualifications in Industrial, employment law or related discipline.
  • Experience in the negotiation of an EBA.
  • Experience in lodging a dispute with Fair work or other relevant jurisdictions.
  • Holds a current Victoria Driver's License.
  • High level of resilience with the ability to be adaptable
  • Experience working in a fastpaced & high workvolume environment
