The role

Reporting to the Manager, Data Linkage you will supervise and coordinate the linkage of high-value data assets for the Queensland Department of Health, Hospital and Health Services, other Queensland Government agencies, external researchers, and cross-jurisdictional linkage projects to create an evidence base to inform health system management and service delivery.


You will coordinate and provide specialist advice in the planning, design, implementation, use, and maintenance of data linkage infrastructure, data assets and business processes consistent with contemporary information management practices and Department of Health policy.


Furthermore, you will provide consultancy and specialist advice to internal and external clients of the Statistical Services Branch and represent the department on national, state, and inter-departmental committees and projects regarding data linkage and related services.

The successful person

To be successful in this role you will have a comprehensive understanding and a breadth of experience in the linkage and/or analysis of complex relational data sets, preferably in a health-related environment.

You will also have demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing team, manage and implement information services projects, and to plan and coordinate operational activities, preferably in a critical data service environment.

Programming skills in Oracle SQL (DML and DDL), SAS or similar will be highly regarded.


In addition to this, you will have the proven ability to communicate with influence, interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to cultivate productive working relationships and networks.
