The Role

We are seeking for an experienced Inventory Specialist based or to be based in Brisbane.

In this role you will have the overall responsibility for the accuracy and optimisation of the inventory levels necessary to meet operational requirements.


As a Subject Matter Expert in inventory management, you will work closely with inventory and warehousing departments on site and other business areas at Lihir Operations to identify and implement improvement opportunities to optimise and reduce the overall the inventory levels at Lihir to an appropriate level whilst maintaining acceptable service levels to meet operational requirements.


Your service mindset will assist to raise the profile of the Lihir Procurement team through engaging with key site stakeholders to implement improvement opportunities and improve overall customer satisfaction with inventory availability.

This will be supported through provision of data, analytics, insights and reporting to help inform decision making and guide improvement opportunities.


Your strong skills and experience in SAP, Excel and Oniqua functionality will help to identify opportunities for improvement and be responsible to deliver improvement opportunities within the inventory function including an overall reduction in working capital, and improvement in service levels for production requirements.

The Brisbane office is located at 147 Coronation Drive, Milton overlooking the Brisbane River and is within walking distance to the Milton train station, cafes, and parking options.

Qualifications and technical experience include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor level commercial related tertiary qualification (Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Experience in a warehousing/inventory management role with demonstrated ability to optimise inventory levels is essential.
  • Advanced use and understanding of various company & departmental systems including SAP, Excel, Oniqua and the full Procure to Pay (P2P) lifecycle.
  • Commercially astute, with strong financial comprehension of procurement impacts, with the ability to influence and collaborate with crossfunctional and interdisciplinary teams including site operational warehouse and inventory teams, procurement, commercial and maintenance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, with a conscientiousness to support team workload as required during surge requirements.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong key stakeholder relationships through regular formal and informal engagement and collaboration.
  • Understanding of inventory management best practice and material master data management is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and successfully leading change management.
Aditional Requirements

  • This is a Brisbanebased role however, there may be occasional travel to site in Lihir, PNG.
  • Ability to provide/obtain a valid police clearance.
  • Ability to complete a preemployment medical assessment.
