The Academy of Interactive Entertainment is looking for a Deputy Head of School for its' Adelaide campus.

This is a dynamic role, which will contribute to the development and growth of our campus as an educational centre of excellence for games and film.

This position is to work collaboratively with the Head of School as a member of the management team.


The Deputy Head of School will make a significant contribution to staff development, student outcomes and pastoral care as well as supporting the operations of the Adelaide Campus.


Position Responsibilities

  • Promote and support the academic programme
  • Assist with human resource management of staff and providing pastoral care to learners
  • Assist with the management of the campus's physical resources
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislative requirements
  • Ensure compliance with AIE Policies
  • Assist with campus marketing
  • Develop and maintain industry and education contacts
  • Ensure all academic and administration documentation and records are accurate
  • Facilitate the introduction and implementation of new courses
  • Take responsibility for the running of the campus in the absence of the Head of School
  • Take responsibility for running VETiS programme in Adelaide

Essential Skills and Knowledge:


  • Prior teaching experience with relevant qualifications; Bachelor Degree level or higher preferred;
  • Experience in leadership and management
  • Relevant recent experience within a public and/or private RTO
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and cooperatively as part of a small team
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Initiative and ability to learn
  • Commitment to quality assurance
  • Experience leading staff in areas including recruitment, management and development needs of staff
  • A strong interest or background in interactive digital media

Desirable:


  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or its equivalent)
  • Experience working in the Vocational Education sector
  • Knowledge of the Australian Quality Training Framework
  • Experience with Student and Learning Management Systems
  • Training in working with implementing individual learning programmes for students
  • Interest in games, animation, film and/or visual effects
The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) is Australia's most awarded 3D animation, game design and visual FX educator.

Created as a non-profit organisation to grow the creative digital sector, AIE pioneered the development of specialist game qualifications and continues to innovate through industry partnerships and dynamic teaching.

AIE courses are practical, career-focused and delivered by industry experienced teachers in a seriously fun and creatively-demanding studio environment.

  • This is a full time position (hours negotiable) with a 5month probation period
  • Salary is negotiable based on skills and experience
  • A current Police Check or Working With Children's Check is required
