Role and Responsibilities
- **Full time permanent position**-
Sydney (Homebush) or Brisbane location

The Role


The role is responsible to the Manager, Aviation Training Capability (IPAC) for the project management and coordination of all SME input to the coordinated implementation, continuous improvement and review of training support plans within the remit of the capability.


The Technical Training Manager (TTM) is the authorized 2IC for the MAT within IPAC region for the Training Capability, and assumes delegation responsibilities as directed by the MAT.

The TTM is responsible for managing and executing assigned strategic and tactical tasks by the MAT for the training capability.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide management support to MAT for implementation, continuous improvement and governance requirements of the training capability inclusive of training support plans (TSPs), coordination and project management of assigned remit across functions aligning and managing the high performance team members contributing to deliver agile and innovation outcomes for our training partners and customers.
  • Ensure at the governance level all staff are regulated under an Instructor Induction Development and Continuation Plan IAW the contractual requirements of the customer and global Instructor standards of CAE.
  • Effectively govern and report to MAT on all assigned Aviation Safety Management System (ASMS) duties and responsibilities associated with managing CAE's live flight training and collaboratively with customer fatigue management of CAE live flying Instructors and Reservists
  • Ensure as assigned by MAT governance review requirements of the CAE D&S IPAC ASMS are conducted and continuous improvement initiatives implemented.
  • Monitor and Report on all instructional staff and key position holders compliance with mandatory ASMS training requirements.
  • Contribute to improves business efficiency in all areas balancing productivity, quality of training delivered and aviation safety in the optimum manner
  • Promote, develop, communicate and implements agreed management systems ensuring a One CAE team
  • Delivers and regularly updates training capability management information and metrics to enable objective data driven decision making and meet mandatory reporting requirements
  • Performs the tasks of the 2IC to the MAT throughout the regional capability as directed
  • Manage and govern staff induction training of all capability personnel
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of contemporary professional development program of the Training Capability workforce as assigned by MAT by monitoring the staffing, training, development and motivation of all employees
  • Ensures employee compliance to all appropriate policies, processes, procedures, standards and regulations
  • Deliver input to budget and forecasting of results
  • Assists in needs analysis for equipment, training and resource for the Training Capability
  • Manages and executes capability wide tasks and projects inline with approved budgets

Qualifications and Experience/Requirements

Essential:


  • Bachelor Degree in Aviation, training development or instructional design
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • At least five years' experience in ADF Training simulator/flight instruction
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in industry and/or military service with 5years focused on the development and/or delivery of training programs in an operational capacity for the defence sector
  • Exercises good judgment in interpreting instructions and assumes responsibility for accuracy and completeness of work produced.
  • Works independently or with other team members and customers to validate training materials.
  • Knowledge of Instructional System Development (ISD) processes to interpret, establish, and communicate instructional and development standards, processes, and tools to support production of training materials and courseware by the courseware development team
  • Ability to travel and performs other duties as required.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DOD Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and able to recognize and address potential cultural sensitivities with D & S customers.
  • Knowledgeable in contemporary Aviation Safety Management System implementation and management.
  • Experience and knowledge operating under a RTO framework

  • Knowledgeable of training development processes
  • Experience in development and delivery of Human Factors and Non-Technical Skills training for Instructors
  • Experience in instructional staff development and contemporary best training practices
  • Experience in aviation training quality and performance and governance compliance
  • Experience and knowledge in managing training under a directed curriculum (Learning Management Plan)
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the vocational education and training (VET) sector
