Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Manager, Campus Services (Retail & Property Operations) to join Campus Services and Procurement, Administrative Division.


The Manager, Campus Services is responsible for initiating, leading and managing a variety of projects which support the activation and optimisation of QUT's retail, commercial and public spaces and the growth and development of services provided on campus.

The primary focus for the period of this appointment will be on retail and property operations.

Specifically, this includes responsibility for the daily retail and commercial property operations on and off campus, including assisting in the formulation, delivery and management of retail leasing strategies, retailer daily presentation and operations, campus retail tenancy mix and providing advice, support and reporting on a range of property related matters across various property asset classes where QUT operates in the capacity as either Landlord or Tenant.

About the area


Campus Services is responsible for a range of campus services including retail & commercial operations, bookshops, estate planning, travel and transport to support the activities of the University.

Retail and Commercial Operations' primary function is to provide on campus retail service and activities supporting teaching, learning, research and the student and staff experience.

This encompasses retail and commercial property leasing, strategy, retailer management, operations and liaison plus the management and administration of variety of off campus leasehold and freehold assets.


What you need to succeed

  • Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications in a related discipline, combined with relevant experience in retail and commercial property services, leasing, operations, finance & budgeting and contract management.
  • Proven success in identifying, establishing, leading and managing highimpact and highvalue retail initiatives, organisationwide projects, events and initiatives to drive commercial income and meet organisational needs and objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and utilising a matrix approach to team collaboration.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and relationship building skills, including written and verbal presentation skills, business case development and report writing and analytical interpretation.
  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating and maintaining productive, collaborative and outcomesfocused working relationships to anticipate and exceed client expectations and requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing strategic and operational advice to senior management and key stakeholders.
