Purpose of role


The purpose of this role is to ensure that all accounts are actioned appropriately and in a timely manner by the collection officers on a day to day basis, encouraging a competitive attitude between the teams resulting in improved collections and cash flow.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Support, direct, guide and advise credit controllers
  • Review overdue accounts to ensure actioned appropriately
  • Provide manager with weekly and monthly reports on activities and issues arising
  • Set and monitor KPI's with team members during regular performance reviews
  • Monitor and manage staff absences for payroll purposes and to ensure work load covered effectively
  • Liaise with branch managers and other national office managers as needed
  • Review the PFD credit policy and recommend changes if necessary. Work on building awareness of the policy within the collection teams.
  • Gain an understanding of the other functions within credit and collections and how they fit in with the collections team
  • Oversee accounts on Stop Supply/Hard hold to ensure all relevant parties notified of status and orders released when appropriate
  • Refer accounts to Legal as required and according to policy guidelines
  • Assist with 'hands on' collections and manage issues escalated from collection officers
  • Review customer classifications and update as appropriate
  • Monitor external credit databases to assist with prioritizing collection activity
  • Weekly review of recorded calls to ensure standards achieved and identify if further training is required
  • Perform adhoc tasks as requested by manager
