Job Description:

THE ROLE
Havas Media Australia's Sydney team is looking for a Performance Manager to join our growing media team.

You'll be joining a supportive, collaborative and diverse team, with flexible working arrangements, loads of development opportunities and an industry-leading benefits package.


The Performance Manager would be responsible for leading and driving forward the paid search strategy for our largest ecommerce client.

You would be accountable for creating and implementing strategies across all paid search channels including Google AdWords and Microsoft Ads, whilst working closely with the SEO team, the rest of the Havas Market team and external Performance partners.


As a senior member of our team, you will be tasked with leading a team of talented people, planning and delivering Performance Media based campaigns to one of the most respected and well-known retailers in Australia.


From impression to conversion or brand uplift, the Performance Manager will deploy world class performance media and biddable knowledge, smart use of audience data, and industry-leading technology (secured through collaborative supplier partnerships) to facilitate 1:1 communication with our audience.


The role requires a passion for driving results, a collaborative mindset, and a desire to constantly evolve our approach to drive meaningful growth for clients.

You will be an experienced and exceptionally talented individual who is passionate about making media drive results for clients.

Day to day, your role will involve the following core responsibilities:

Campaign management:

  • Monitor and manage day to day running of paid search and social accounts for clients
  • Ensure all accounts are setup to adhere best practice & restructure inherited accounts where necessary
  • Strong budget management skills to avoid underspend/overspend.
  • Forecast accurately expected performance of campaigns for clients

Account management:

  • Manage the overall client performance media programs for a designated portfolio, including daytoday client relationship and the efficient and effective implementation of strategy

Implementation:

  • Work with the team to create exceptional and holistic digital media plans, rooted in campaign business objectives, across paid search and social.
  • Accountable for endtoend delivery of performance campaigns against targets.
  • Provide performance reporting and indepth insights on a weekly basis. You will be comfortable dealing with numbers and technology platforms, with a great ability to articulate and put together sound recommendations.

Optimisation:

  • Work closely with Analytics team to ensure that all campaigns are being run and tested with the rigor needed to gain appropriate learnings.
  • Strive to identify improvements beyond SEM.
  • Highlight opportunities for innovation and improvement on the client account through media, marketing, creative, technological or process change.

Team development:

  • Mentoring and guidance of junior team members, taking responsibility for their growth and development.
  • Completion of junior team member performance reviews and KPI tracking.
  • An experienced and exceptionally talented individual, you will be passionate about digital media.
  • At least three years' experience within digital media with a track record of leadership
  • Team management experience (with at least 12 direct reports)
  • Strong understanding of SEM, performance media and biddable landscape, suppliers and technology
  • Proven experience in running complex and effective performance media and branding campaigns, which exceed client expectations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to present your strategic recommendations to external and internal clients.
  • Strong analytical skills. Able to analyse and draw conclusions from data and comfortable presenting quantitative information in a client context.
  • Eager to learn new concepts and challenge the existing business framework.
  • Effective written communication, presentation, influencing & negotiation skills and problemsolving abilities.
  • Knowledge and experience with thirdparty companies (Google, Bing, etc)
  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office packages
  • Passionate about biddable media, with a general thirst for digital knowledge and a significant interest in new platforms and channels
  • Passion for excellence
  • Experience in retail is a plus
