What's your role?


As an Experimentation Lead, you will be pivotal in driving an outcome-led, evidence-based approach to high priority sales, service & retention outcomes by playing a number of key roles.

You will act as the 'glue' between the customer, the business and delivery team; relentlessly advocating for the customer with a whole of Bupa customer journey mindset.

You will also help teams within C&TO with a primary focus on Channel Performance and Optimisation, building the practice of experimentation that will hinge into the digital operation model, and learn to delivery experiments that help Bupa achieve its strategic goals.

Finally, you will also assist other areas of Bupa with experimentation needs, acting as the co-creator with product, marketing and customer service teams by helping to design, implement and measure experiments.

Please note this is a 12 month contract opportunity.


What will your day look like?

  • Partner with various Product Managers, business stakeholders and technical development teams to deliver complex digital products & services.
  • Define stories and acceptance criteria to deliver the minimum viable product for product launch and successive iteration and horizon mapping. Ensure focus on relevant stories and priority of team backlog and roadmap.
  • Engage and motivate the delivery team with the product vision by communicating the business benefits of the product / features.
  • Create, prioritise and maintain the team backlog, defining release and sprint goals and answering questions to add detail to user stories.
  • Drive successful business outcomes by bringing together specialists such as user experience, visual designers and agency partners, to define and create engaging and delightful customer experiences.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand business drivers, considerations and influence outcomes.
  • Partner with data and analytics to develop a deep understanding of customers and customer behaviours to inform decisions and product development
  • Collaborate closely with the experimentation process by continually improving the experimentation and championing across all relevant business in order to uplift skills and capabilities while contributing to methodologies and practices to improve quality and velocity.
  • Provide the tools and training to help others embrace experimentation as part of their job spec by building the capability + capacity in colleagues to conduct experiments as a habit.
  • Contribute to the experimentation system within the relevant business units including leading the CRO guild and its associated forums, defining tools, providing training and resources as well as owning all experimentation targets.
  • Support the 'always on' research function of the CRO guild by directing, undertaking and/or collating research from other areas in the business to surface opportunities for further experimentation and focus
  • Communicate overall planning and progress to the Head of Channel Performance & Optimisation and maintain our overall test and result communications to the wider business including all involved and relevant teams, Heads Of, General Managers and Directors.

What will you bring?

  • At least 4 years experience leading an Experimentation team at a large organisation
  • Demonstrated ability in running codesign sessions and capacitybuilding in experimental design, lean iteration and impact evaluation.
  • Strong familiarity with the methodology and statistics behind effective testing campaigns, with experience tailoring explanations of statistical and technical concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Deep understanding of the tools that power automation, experimentation, personalization, attribution, and analytics
  • Proven analytical thinking and innovation ability; analysing information logically to inform evidencebased decisionmaking
  • Proven customercentric mindset; building a user experience with the customer in mind at every step of the journey
  • Proven strong emotional intelligence; intimately understanding and empathising with Bupa customers' varying journeys and preferences
  • Proven partner management and collaboration with product managers, data, engineering and analytics teams
  • Superior attention to detail and strong organizational skills
