Position Information

Specific Selection Criteria

  • Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position.

In addition to the general selection criteria:

  • Approval to teach English 710 (ENG), English Years ESG) and English Extensions 1 & 2 (ENE).
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a highly effective and collaborative member of the school executive leadership team to lead initiatives that address whole school strategic directions and targets.
  • Proven capacity to lead and work collaboratively with colleagues to implement evidencebased faculty and whole school literacy initiatives that have resulted in improved learning outcomes for all students.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the English faculty team in the implementation of the new 710 English syllabus, including developing and evaluating teaching and learning programs and assessment practices that enhance learning outcomes for students with a diverse range of learning and wellbeing needs.
  • Outstanding skills in leading a culture of high expectations that fosters deep engagement and enhanced learning outcomes for Stage 6 students.

General Selection Criteria

  • 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
