The Business Manager is a key role in the business, acting as gatekeeper to the Head of Channels Business Management and responsible for the planning, management and reporting on the day-to-day strategy and operations of the Channels business.

The role reports to Head of Channels Business Management, Wealth & Personal Banking.


A strong communicator, the position works with senior internal and external stakeholders to regularly evaluate and forecast the tracking of the overall Channels objectives and provides reporting and business plans to the WPB Head of Channels, reporting on all Channels against all metrics within the Channels Business.


This role drives the creation of and adherence to the Businesses expense, revenue, and FTE plans, including decision making on respective department budget metrics with a view to delivering maximum financial and operational efficiencies.

The position ensures that all Channels initiatives remain on track and on budget, and projects and initiatives within the channel are set up and managed correctly.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Own/manage FTE/staff/leave numbers and forecasts and P&L implications.
  • Create agreed KPI for each business function and report against and flag forecast discrepancies.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external senior stakeholders to ensure KPIs and objectives meet strategic plan.
  • Create business plans and strategic outlines for future years planning discussions.
  • Continuous improvement of analytics, monthend, projection and reporting processes to deliver enhanced outcomes.
  • Oversee and produce required business reports and analytics to enable appropriate oversight of all cost centres within Channels in addition to managing/challenging cost centre transactions in Channels.
  • Provide insights and reporting to aid decisionmaking.
