The Role
The Integrated Water Management (IWM) Planning Manager will lead a technical team in considering the whole water cycle in the development of long-term growth and urban renewal servicing strategies in partnership with Local Councils, other Water Authorities, Traditional Owners, State Government Departments, the community and developers.

Key Responsibilities**Key areas of responsibility include:
- Management of a team of technical people who will assist in delivering IWM plans, initiatives and projects developed with input from partner organisations
- Leading the team towards milestones and deliverables in key strategic IWM projects including the Eastern Alternative Water Scheme and Upper Merri Creek catchment stormwater harvesting analysis
- Translating industry IWM targets and measures into meaningful measures at company, division and team level; and tracking these measures against targets.
- Working towards delivery of State Government water policy aspirations and YVW's corporate obligations and objectives relating to IWM
- Representing YVW at IWM industry working groups, forums, precinct planning and development discussions
- Working internally to align capital project delivery with achieving strategic commitments under joint industry strategies
- Contributing to policy changes and processes to streamline the delivery of IWM initiatives and outcomes by YVW and partner organisations
- Identifying opportunities for initiatives that embody YVW's commitment to caring for Country
- Participating as an effective member of the Place Based Planning & Resilience division and contributing to corporate direction and purpose.
About you
We are looking for someone who is passionate and proactive, and who will take ownership of finding solutions to sometimes complicated scenarios.
Someone with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage their workload, whilst staying on track to deliver the key outcomes required.
A keen attention to detail to ensure solutions are optimised is essential.If you have the following skills, get in touch:
- Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline such as Engineering, Environmental Science or Business
- Integrated water resources management experience is highly regarded.
- Awareness of complexities of Land Use Planning and Development.
- Effective interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills in dealing with senior management, communities and stakeholders.
