Your New Role - Business Development Manager
Reporting to the National Sales Director, you will be able to utilize all contacts and facilities to ensure your clients are well catered for and all their service expectations are exceeded

You will be responsible for growing the market for this client with an uncapped territory.

  • Developing sales strategy and target account listing
  • Providing excellence in customer service ensuring repeat business
  • Building and developing relationships with potential clients
  • Following up on potential business opportunities and securing appointments to discuss their freight forwarding needs
  • Planning and developing presentations
  • Prepare Sales Order Forms with the advice of Customer Service
  • Prepare quotations for services for both potential and existing customers
  • Host overseas sales visitors and national route development managers as required
  • Qualify prospective customers via telephone or inperson
  • In conjunction with Service Department, send rate and service level instructions to appropriate overseas offices of the company network
  • Taking appropriate corrective action to prevent the recurrence of nonconformances

What you will need to succeed

  • You will be an experienced Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Freight Forwarding Sales
  • Local Market experience is essential
  • Previous management experience with a strong ability to drive, develop and motivate team members
  • Advanced negotiation and relationship skills
  • Experience influencing and engaging key figures in client organizations
  • Strong financial expertise with demonstrated ability to develop and implement business structures
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • High attention to detail and strong planning and organizing skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
