The Role
***Black Star Pastry is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to manage the full accounts payable function, as well as perform bookkeeping support services, including the management of efficient and robust reconciliation processes.


Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager you will be a key asset in delivering efficient and quality account processing to support the business, with a strong focus on internal customer service.

This is a full-time opportunity.

Your core responsibilities will include

  • Manage and reconcile accounts payable functions including:
  • Reconcile supplier statements and cross-check invoices to delivery dockets.
  • Ensure appropriate approvals are provided prior to payment.
  • Enter purchases and complete weekly payment runs.
  • Accurately perform full bookkeeping support services, including:
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Armaguard deposits.
  • Assist with preparation of weekly reports for Black Star Pastry Management team.
  • Assist with preparation of Business Activity Statements.
  • Reconciliation of rental income statements.
  • Assist Commercial Finance Manager with the timely preparation and completion of month end reporting package, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Finance Manager to establish and maintain new procedures which improve our internal control environment and reconciliations.


You will be a skilled Accounts Payable Officer with 3-4 years bookkeeping experience focussing on the full end-to-end Accounts Payable function.


Knowledgeable in a range of accounting tasks with a strong focus on exceptional internal customer service you will be highly organised and capable of managing your priorities with mínimal direction.


Building positive relationships quickly, together with strong attention to detail will be considered some of your strengths, as is your critical thinking ability and knack for multi-tasking.


Industry experience in hospitality, food & beverage or retail will be highly regarded, but more importantly we are looking for someone who is warm, practical and open to learning new things.

A degree in a relevant field would be highly regarded but is not essential.

Xero experience would be helpful. Excel is a must.
