Support Worker (Children & Young People)
- Permanent position based in Blacktown

Reporting to the Team Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake structured supervision and observation of contact with family members both within and outside agency premises.
- Support children and young people who may have suffered trauma and subsequently present complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Assist in or coordinate events and children's activities as required.
- Keep comprehensive records of work undertaken and provide these as required in a prompt timeframe.

About you:
- Must possess a current, full Australian driver licence.
- Certificate III in Children's Service, or equivalent qualifications and training in youth or social care is advantageous.
- Prior experience working directly with children/young people, including teenagers, in the care system or other relevant field is essential.
- Experience working with children with traumarelated challenging behaviours.
- A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to children's services. Ability to communicate simply and effectively, both verbal and written, with a diverse staff group at all levels, recognising potential language barriers and cultural differences.
