As a Regulatory Reporting Operations Associate in the payment operations team, you will be responsible for supporting day to day regulatory operations related to transaction banking and manage key projects like ISO20022, Real Time Payments and Digital COIN.

The individual will be responsible for day to interaction with local regulators, partner banks and central bank.
**Job responsibilities

  • Managing large strategic projects including but not limited to ISO20022 projects, Real Time Payments, JPM COIN, NZ 7 day clearing.
  • Drive regulatory reporting agenda for AU/NZ branches.
  • Partner with Compliance, Product, Technology and regional teams on all regulatory matters impacting Payments line of business.
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory environment in AU and NZ and ability to understand the processes required to implement the changes
  • Sound knowledge of the Key regulatory reports like IFTI, TTR, PTR.
  • Ability to work with cross location and regional teams to manage exceptions and escalations.
  • Should be comfortable in presenting escalations, updates and changes to senior management on regular basis.
  • Recognize and drive local/regional/global improvement opportunities in processes or technology delivery.
  • Ensure all operation procedures are in compliance with industry and legal regulatory rules and guidelines both locally and globally (where appropriate).
  • Drive the risks and controls agenda for the team. Ensuring compliance to all internal controls and relevant policies. Ensuring team completes all remediation plans.
  • Partnering with offshore sites in Manila/Mumbai to maintain effective communication across the 3 sites and ensuring controls are consistent and compliant with AU/NZ regulations.
  • Build exceptional relationship with business partners and stakeholders.
**Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years experience within a banking operations environment.
  • Experience to effectively communicate proactively and openly with internal and external business partners.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities and promptly initiate action and escalate potential risks to minimize loss.
  • Adaptability in maintaining standards and adjusting effectively to operate within new work structures, processes or requirements.
  • Conversant with all AU & NZ AML, Compliance and Regulatory requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of banking products, low value clearing systems and high value domestic and international (including FX) payment processing and clearing would be preferable.
  • Project management experience included process flow/design, documentation and implementation.
  • Experience in dealing with interbank enquires.
  • Experience in working with Technology teams during contingency situations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare senior executive style presentations.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skill
