WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team


Primarily based at MILVEHCOE (Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence) Redbank, we work a 9 day fortnight, with every second Friday off.

You will join a super friendly and supportive HSE Team, along with a strong connection within the wider Human Resources team.


About the Role


The Injury and Wellbeing Advisor is responsible for the effective management of health, wellbeing and injury conditions impacting RDA employees capacity for work.

This role also contributes to the development and delivery of RDA's Health, Injury and Wellness strategies, and promoting an environment of continual improvement.


This role is required to work collaboratively across multiple sites and work teams, provide practical specialist advice and guidance, and complete data management and systems administration of Injury Management activities and processes.

The general and generic duties of the Injury and Wellbeing Advisor include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of all injury management matters, including workers compensation claims and administration (multiple jurisdictions), and non-work related injury matters impacting work capacity;
  • Development and monitoring of suitable duties programs by liaising with key stakeholders to facilitate a safe and sustainable recovery;
  • Management of workers compensation policies including premiums, insurer relationships and performance management on behalf of RDA operations in Australia and New Zealand;
  • Provide advice and support to internal stakeholders regarding injury management, health management and wellbeing processes. This may include managing delivery of relevant training to develop business awareness and capability;
  • Management of occupational health and pre employment medical programs. This includes provider and booking management, as well as reviewing the results of health assessments;
  • Assist in the completion of manual handling and workplace ergonomic assessments for various workplace activities. This also includes delivering manual handling training;
  • Develop proactive injury prevention strategies based on workplace heat maps;
  • Develop wellbeing and health education events to promote a healthier workplace;
  • Represent RDA at any Rheinmetall Group's "Think Healthy Committee" activities;
  • Support the broader HSE team to deliver the RDA fitness for work processes;
  • Monitor the compliance levels for RDA against relevant Worker's Compensation legislation;
  • Prepare high level reports for RDA management;
  • Periodically review and update injury management and wellbeing policies, procedures processes and forms;
  • Assist in the development and delivery of HSE and RTW training material;
  • Support the development of psychosocial risk management plan and support psychosocial risk management processes;
  • Be a part of the RDA Emergency Management team by completing first aid and fire warden duties; and
  • Other tasks as directed by the HSE Manager.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Relevant qualification and/or demonstrated professional experience in Personal Injury Management, Health Management or Fitness for Work activities;
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role;
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, coaching, communication and negotiation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with external stakeholders (e.g. workers compensation authorities, healthcare providers etc.) to achieve best practice outcomes;
  • Attention to detail while also achieving goals/deadlines;
  • Intermediate MS Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Comfortable working autonomously with mínimal direction and within a geographically dispersed team; and
  • Supporting RTW processes in a multi site, multi jurisdiction workplace.
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
