Reporting to the Principal Consultant - Health, Safety and Wellbeing, the role is responsible for providing a point of contact and a comprehensive administration support service to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team through reporting and recording requirements, legislative compliance, incidents and injuries, document management and employee wellbeing initiatives and services.

About the role


The Support Officer, Health Safety and Wellbeing role supports the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team in a range of administrative functions aligned to supporting a safe workplace for three Departments and portfolio agencies.

Reporting to the Principal Consultant - Health, Safety and Wellbeing, the role is responsible for providing a point of contact and a comprehensive administration support service to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team through reporting and recording requirements, legislative compliance, incidents and injuries, document management and employee wellbeing initiatives and services.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Providing effective and consistent administration and support to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team in matters related to nominated areas of responsibility.
  • Liaising with training providers to coordinate required Health, Safety and Wellbeing compliance training for the Department and maintaining records accordingly.
  • Assisting in the control and management of Health, Safety and Wellbeing documentation and record keeping, including supporting procurement processes, and contract management.

About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Planning and Organising: Puts a high priority on accomplishment and attaining results. Distinguishes between the more and less critical activities and operates accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required.
  • Service Excellence: Is resourceful and proactive in providing service to the Department and portfolio agencies and is able to make changes in work methods to improve service outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Takes stakeholder needs and expectations into consideration when making recommendations or management of an issue or task.
  • Communication: Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the ability to develop and present material on matters to a wide range of audiences and the ability to prepare quality reports and correspondence.

Mandatory Requirements:

High standard and experience in administrative duties in the Health and Safety industry
