About the role

The Forensic Liaison Officer ( FLO ) utilises high levels of knowledge and skills to work collaboratively with community and in-patient mental health services, state-wide services, other government and non-government organisations to provide oversight, monitoring and co-ordination of the treatment and care of Forensic Order ( Mental Health ), Forensic Order ( Disability ), Treatment Support Orders and other consumers at a high risk of violence as per the requirements of the Mental Health Act 2016, the Chief Psychiatrist Policy for the treatment and care of Forensic Order, Treatment Support Order and high risk patients, other relevant state-wide policies and the FLO network standards.

The FLO actively contributes to the state-wide FLO network and works closely with the Program Co-Ordinator and Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service.

The FLO assists the Hospital and Health service mental health service to develop capacity to confidentiality work with all high-risk consumers
NG- Clinical Nurse Consultant - $128,701 - $139,732 per annum
HP- Health Practitioner Senior - Forensic Liaison Officer - $115,049 - $123,799 per annum

Mandatory Requirements:


  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/1
  • Vaccinated against COVID19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
