Are you passionate about talent acquisition processes and strategy? Do you excel in managing complex projects and activities that contribute to organisation objectives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our People and Engagement Branch (P&E) as a Principal Consultant, Talent Acquisition.

In this position, you will play a key role in designing and implementing sourcing and attraction strategies, projects, methodologies, and processes that support recruitment and sourcing activities to meet the priority workforce demands across the department.

In this role, you'll be provided with the opportunity to make a significant impact through the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, design, develop and implement recruitment and attraction strategies, plans, processes and solutions that align with the strategic priorities of the department.

Develop and review systems, processes and frameworks that guide, develop and coach hiring managers to effectively manage talent pools, specialist talent pipelines, and state-wide recruitment.

Provide authoritative advice and high-level consultancy services to a broad range of internal stakeholders on contemporary strategic recruitment and attraction activities through interpretation of legislation, directives, industrial instruments, Human Resource policies and guidelines.

Manage complex and significant talent acquisition projects and activities including a graduate program strategy that contribute to the development of capability and capacity to achieve department objectives.

Contribute to the strategic management of the department's employee value proposition and ensure its integration into recruitment and attraction strategies.

Build and maintain consultative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including Communication Services, other government agencies and advertising providers to develop and maintain contemporary marketing materials.

Recommend contemporary reporting tools and methodologies including new starter and exist surveys, to provide metrics that drive the development of sourcing and attraction strategies, policies, practices and systems.

Prepare submissions, reports, executive briefs and correspondence in relation to attraction and recruitment matters.
Build capability within the team and across the organisation to enhance talent acquisition capability

To excel in this role, you should possess the following technical skills, abilities, and cultural capabilities:

  • detailed knowledge of talent acquisition and the ability to design and implement sourcing and attraction strategies, projects, methodologies, processes, and solutions;
- proven analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and the ability to translate this to practical advice and the delivery of projects relating to talent acquisition;
- demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to write reports, briefs, strategies and plans;
- experience in delivering projects / programs to deadlines, and translating strategic objectives into concrete actions;
- ability to navigate ambiguity, influence change, and deliver outcomes including when faced with obstacles;
- ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with team and internal and external stakeholders, and
- contribute to workplace equity, diversity and inclusion that enriches our culture of respect and inclusion.
