Our Team Leaders have the privilege and opportunity to coach, guide, and mentor a team of Support Coordinators enabling the team to assist their clients to meet their NDIS goals therefore meeting the Open minds organisational and strategic goals within the NDIS framework and relevant legislation.


About you


You will be a professional Team Leader with a focus on flexibility, adaptability, and variety with a high level of attention to detail.

A professional who can practice with integrity, respect, and a willingness to empower and connect with their team and clients.


  • Sound social or community experience, with a focus on psychosocial and complex disability
  • Demonstrated ability in leading a team which is transforming what they do and how they do it, this includes planning, executing, and reinforcing change.
  • Experience in shaping a team culture which is high performing and stakeholder centric, this includes creating an environment which empowers and engages the team.
  • Ability to lead a team, driven for results and a level of commercial/business savviness.
  • Commitment to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal stakeholders and utilises insights to enhance service delivery.
  • Experience working in complex relationships, whilst having an ability to influence others.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to ensure clear and concise information is presented to the team, Regional Manager, and other stakeholders.
  • Problem solving skills to successfully identify problems, develop solutions, and implement these using a logical and systematic approach.

Experience and knowledge pertaining to:


  • Coordinating the provision of person centred supports to people with a disability and their families.
  • The delivery of contemporary human services practices in relation to people with challenging behaviours and complex support needs
  • High level interpersonal skills and experience supporting people in situations of high emotions.

About the role

  • Requirements/duties may include, but not limited to, the following:_
  • Develop the Support Coordination team through daytoday coaching, checkins, identifying development and mentoring opportunities.
  • Lead the shaping of our culture to be a high performing Support Coordination team which is customer centric. Ensuring that members of the team deliver on their individual performance goals.
  • Provide advice guidance and support to Support Coordinators to ensure that individuals, particularly those with complex needs have plans that are effective, current, and reviewed appropriately.
  • Oversee team member's performance as per operational priorities.
  • Support the work of the organisation through internal monitoring and audit processes to develop and maintain ongoing best practice and ensure that the organisation maintains external accreditation as required.
  • Develop and present progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, presentations and other documentation as required, to support the successful delivery of our strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial working relationships with staff, internal groups, and external bodies to establish viable interactive partnerships.
  • Work closely with your own clients to identify and engage the range of services necessary for them to meet their goals.
  • Demonstrate extensive consideration of and access to services, outside of the Open minds.
  • Provide support to individuals, family members and other stakeholders to ensure that planning processes are fully consultative and responsive to views and aspirations of key decision makers.
  • Provide reports as required and where funded to both the NDIA and customer.
  • Deliver services to customers which effectively, responsibly, and transparently, utilises personal funding.
  • Meet individual performance KPI's regarding revenue generation regarding weekly and monthly billed hours.
