Centre Hours: 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday)

About the Role:

We are seeking an Administration Manager to join our innovative and dynamic team.

Based in Bruce on-site at the Canberra Specialist Medical Centre, this role reports to the Site Manager and is responsible for leading our administration team.

This role will operate in a full-time capacity, working 76 hours per fortnight working 5 days a week Monday to Friday (shift times fall between the hours of 6am - 6pm if need arises).


Key Responsibilities

  • Onboarding, training, rostering and management of administration staff
  • Triaging referrals to Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists & Haematologists
  • Welcoming patients, collecting and entering personal details, scheduling appointments
  • Oversee the efficient and effective management of Radiation & Medical Oncologists sessions
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to enquiries
  • Entering and processing patient billing and balancing daily banking and debt management
  • Monitoring and assessing the administration care path of all patients
  • Maintaining and managing patient information
  • Assist site manager with recruitment of new staff

You will be required to take on an integral role in the management of day-to-day administration activities and may be expected to offer occasional assistance across all current and future sites.

What we're hoping you can bring to the team:

  • Experience supervising and leading teams in a health environment
  • Experience and knowledge of the private health fund claiming process
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and successful development of long term relationships with external and internal customers
  • Advanced knowledge of all patient billings i.e. Medicare, DVA and private patients (desirable)
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements in a health care setting (desirable)
  • Qualification or training in management and leading teams (desirable)
