About the opportunity
The Executive Support Officer is a key role providing effective and efficient executive support to the Deputy Commissioner.

Each Deputy Commissioner has an Executive Support Officer - these two ongoing roles are for the Executive Support Officer in Operations and the Executive Support Officer in Corporate Services.

Both roles are performed from the NSW SES State Headquarters in Wollongong and regular office attendance will be required, however there is also flexibility to work from home.

A typical day in the Executive Support Officer role is busy and diverse, performing a broad range of administrative support to the Deputy Commissioner, including management of their diary, travel/itineraries, coordination of meetings and minute taking, following up on requests and information and reporting documentation and reports as requested.

The role requires strong collaboration with administrative staff, Staff Officers, other Senior Executive and Senior Managers to ensure the smooth running of the teams.

During operational activity, this role can switch from business as usual tasks, to supporting operational activity and providing critical support to your Deputy Commissioner as they scale up for operational response.

Being able to work in a busy work environment where operational activity can divert your attention to other/different critical tasks is important in this role.
