The Garment Technician is a support role across our design and development team helping to bring our products to life across global markets and across our brand portfolio.

This role's primary responsibility is to manage the production of our garments from Salesman Samples to Final Production, to ensure they are produced correctly to brief, quality and timeline requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist designers and product developers to create seasonal specs for new fits.
  • Organise fit sessions across the women's business, by scheduling the fit model and coordinating each of the Design teams.
  • Source new fit models as required.
  • Provide technical garment construction support to the Design Team throughout all stages of the development process.
  • Assist with any additional sample measuring during busy periods
  • Constant communication with factories to ensure ontime delivery of highquality production samples and bulk.
  • Measure salesman samples and prepare relevant notes prior to all fit sessions.
  • Generate comprehensive fit comments and manage communication with factories.
  • Maintain administration (e.g Backbone data, production tracking for operations)
  • Daily communication with makers to ensure qualitative and respectful working relationship.
  • Follow up with suppliers regularly to ensure critical pathway management is kept on track and deadlines are met on time.
  • Review ranges and flag any potential QC issues which require 3rd party inspection.
  • Regular retail visits to review garment quality in store.
  • Maintain a QC register across all areas of the business(retail/Sales support/ecomm) flagging consistent issues.
  • Manage and follow up any QC issues which come through to the design department.

Requirements:


  • Experience in development of denim products.
  • Experience in development of apparel products.
  • Experience liaising with overseas suppliers is imperative.
  • Experience in preproduction.
  • Understanding of the production process.
  • Sound understanding in têxtiles/fabrics.
  • Fit testing knowledge.
  • Garment construction knowledge.
  • Must be able to alter patterns with confidence.
  • Skilled in Excel.
  • Skilled in Illustrator.
