  • Senior Category Manager for Banking Services

How will I Help?


As the Category Manager you will be responsible for the support of categories predominantly within our Consumer Banking Groups including but not limited to Card Production, Loyalty, Schemes, Product Insurance.

You will partner with key stakeholders, including Senior Executives and will play an important part of the relationship between the Consumer Groups and the Groups Procurement Team.

In addition, you will support a strong agile and delivery mindset culture that embodies our values and behaviours, balancing regulatory, commercial and member needs.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategic category plans for Consumer Products categories including but not limited to Card Production, Loyalty, Schemes, Product Insurance with a focus on bank card manufacture developed in conjunction with and endorsed by business stakeholders
  • Sourcing strategies developed in alignment with the strategic category plans approved prior to formal market approach
  • Pipeline accuracy of contract execution and contract coverage for spend categories
  • Contract and commercial management compliance and partner governance activities
  • Satisfactory first line of defence reviews of responsible sourcing, risk register, supplier health risk assessments, contractual obligations
  • Sustainability benefits and commercial benefits are determined and delivered

What do I need?

  • Experienced procurement professional within a corporate structure, ideally from a banking/ financial services sector.
  • End to end procurement process knowledge.
  • Communication skills that allow for collaboration with internal business partners to develop and execute strategic category management plans.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
