- Ensure the implementation of necessary systems, processes, networks, and relationships to allow the department to take the lead, influence, and foster collaboration between local, state, and commonwealth government agencies, private sector organizations, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the region to enhance service delivery outcomes, aligning with Closing the Gap.
- Offer guidance to senior management, including the Executive Director, Deputy Director-General, and the Director-General on regional matters, particularly concerning whole-of-government Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service delivery, engagement, and partnerships.
- Facilitate, monitor, and report on the execution of partnership agreements between government and the community as well as the efficiency and delivery of government services to specified communities.
- Represent the department at key forums, ensuring successful negotiation on regional matters, specifically improvements in service delivery.
- Collaborate with other government agencies in exchanging information and designing and executing service delivery responses to enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Actively identify and advocate for the utilization of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses in the region.
- Support, promote, and facilitate reconciliation and reconnection initiatives and strategies in the region that validate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and cultures.
- Offer high-level leadership and guidance to staff to develop individuals and teams dedicated to accomplishing organizational objectives and results.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team by fostering and upholding a culture of client service and performance management.
- Promote a responsible, just, and secure work environment through the execution of management practices, policies, and procedures, including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunities/anti-discrimination, and performance management.
- Effectively oversee the implementation of programs and projects at the regional level to ensure outcomes are delivered in a prompt, suitable, and cost-effective manner within allocated resources and budget limitations.
- Ensure efficient management of human, financial, and physical resources, fostering a culture of client service, continuous improvement, and innovation, and ensuring performance objectives are met to a high standard.
- Adopt a cooperative approach to allocate resources to guarantee resources are directed to areas with the greatest needs.
- All staff members must identify, handle, and report risks associated with their work with ATSIP.
