This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and a nationally recognised qualification within NSW Health Pathology. Opportunities available within Pathology in our Administration Department at Nepean Hospital. We want to support your attendance at TAFE working towards gaining a Certificate III in Business Administration.

What you'll be doing


Perform a range of administrative tasks within the Pathology Laboratory, including front desk reception and providing assistance to laboratory staff, under supervision, to deliver a patient focused service.


  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Aboriginality. Aboriginality is considered a genuine qualification for this position and is authorised under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 197
  • A willingness and desire to undertake on the job training in Administration.
  • A willingness and the ability to attend the Registered Training organisation and work towards obtaining a Certificate III in Business Administration.
  • Customer service skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical staff.
  • Data entry skills including high attention to detail.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases


All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).

Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
