We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly organised Category Manager to join our DK team.

Reporting to the DK Director, you will manage and oversee the sales, stock procurement and day to day running of DK in Australia.

This includes overseeing the publishing/scheduling, sales and marketing for the DK program, including inventory holdings and sales management and targets.

The role represents the interests of DK in Australia and is responsible for ensuring alignment with the global brand strategies at a local level.


Responsibilities include:


  • Management of the DK publishing program including appraisal, scheduling, pricing, and sales briefings
  • Manage the DK inventory to meet annual targets along with the DK Product Manager
  • Provide guidance to assist in the management of the BD and local licensing publishing requirements, managing costs, schedules, and production requirements.
  • Deliver annual and quarterly budget submissions and revisions
  • Identify, investigate, and facilitate new business/partnership opportunities to provide new and/or increased revenue outcomes.
  • Manage the team annual review process
  • Develop and maintain relationships with international offices DK UK and US.
  • Work with DK Director in providing month end commentary v latest forecast for internal management, commercial, finance and overseas partners

Qualifications and/or experience:


  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience in the Australian book trade (mandatory)
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing/Business (preferable)
  • Previous key account management experience (mandatory)
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, ability to read a P&L document
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders
  • Excellent time management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation
