Fairfield Council is looking for a team member to lead their dynamic group fitness family in engaging members and making an impact in your local community.

The Group Fitness Coordinator is responsible for the scheduling, resourcing, measuring and monitoring of over 100 classes per week on the group fitness timetable of the Fairfield City Leisure Centres.
The Group Fitness Coordinator provides leadership to a committed team of instructors to ensure a high level of professionalism for the Health and Fitness areas and provides input to development of new Health and Fitness Programs.
This position is also responsible for the purchasing and maintenance of the sound systems and equipment in relation to group fitness programs.
ESSENTIAL:
Minimum
- Certificate 3 group fitness
- Certification in at least one Les Mills program and experience with a variety of programs or ability to instruct freestyle classes.
- Registration with Aus Active.
- Current working with children's check
- First Aid and CPR.
- Please note that this role requires mandatory vaccination against COVID19 at Fairfield City Council. All applicants must be vaccinated (and provide proof cited vaccination certificate).
- Demonstrated experience in time table coordination
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision
- Knowledge of exercise programming and fitness appraisals
- Demonstrated practical experience in the health and fitness industry
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
- The ability to conduct health and fitness classes
- Demonstrated experience in program development
- Knowledge of and/or experience in a variety of group fitness styles including les mills, aqua, freestyle, yoga, pilates etc
- Background in sports programs

- Advanced Leadership skills
- Advanced skills with Microsoft programs, especially excel
- Experience working with invoicing, timesheets and other administrative tasks

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Part Time position, 40 hours per fortnight
- This position is a Grade 4, salary range is $36,686 p.a, with performance progression to $42,971 p.a. (based on 20 hours per week)
- Flexible and additional working hours are available.
- Penalty rates on the weekends are applicable.
- A Uniform is provided
Hours of Work:
Between 5.00am and 11.00pm Monday to Sunday. Start and finish times will be flexible and depend on operational needs.
