  • Opportunity to join the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) in the Global Transaction Services (GTS) Client Development team

How will I help?


As a Client Development Associate, you will be part of Westpac's Institutional Bank (WIB) within the Global Transaction Services (GTS) team.

You will be responsible for service delivery and support of a portfolio of public sector clients located in Canberra.

You will act as the client's primary point of contact to establish new services and for requests relating to existing services.

You will also advance your business development skills by working closely with Client Development Managers to complete sales-to-service activities.


You will:

  • Build relationships with our public sector clients and an understanding of their transaction banking requirements through regular interaction and great customer service
  • Respond to all assigned client enquiries within defined service standards, resolving matters competently, ethically, and commercially
  • Proactively anticipate client needs and the products, solutions, and offerings are best suited for their requirements

What do I need?


To be successful in this role, you will be a pro-active individual with experience in managing and understanding public sector client needs, within operations, client service and relationship management or transactional banking product environment.

You will have strong business acumen and will understand the importance of managing and maintaining sustainable relationships with internal stakeholders and clients.


Further advantageous skills:

  • Strong prioritisation skills and ability to work methodically through multiple requests in parallel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of the sales process with experience identifying different sales solutions and products for clients within different industry segments
  • Develop an understanding of key clients in portfolio and the broader public sector to ensure superior service is provided
  • Ambition to learn and develop into a relationship manager / business development
