About the Role:


An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Breast and Endocrine Registrar within the Breast and Endocrine Surgery Unit.


Under consultant supervision, the Breast and Endocrine Registrar contributes to a comprehensive Breast and Endocrine Surgery and General Surgery service within NALHN.


In this role you will be responsible for managing the care of patients with Breast, Endocrine and acute General Surgery conditions in consultation with the responsible Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.


The Breast and Endocrine Registrar will:

  • Participate in unit activity and quality and safety audit activities;
  • Coordinate preparation of the weekly MDT; and
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and teaching to junior doctors and medical students as required and appropriate.


To be successful in this role you will have interest and experience in the fields of General Surgery and Breast and Endocrine Surgery.

Participation in research is strongly encouraged and supported by a dedicated Research team within DSSA.


As per the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years.

Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Medical Practitioner will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements.

This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.


To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
