About the role:


We are looking for an experienced, professional and energetic Assistant Centre Manager to join the team at Mt Annan Leisure Centre & Camden Pool.


Ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations, you will also be responsible for driving the effective delivery of all programs and services offered at the Centres whilst ensuring the facility meets the needs of the local community.


As the Assistant Centre Manager, you will work directly with the management team to deliver performance across all areas of the business with customer satisfaction and safety at the forefront of everything you do.

This is an exciting role with equal focus on financial management, people management and performance within the Centre.


The role has a team of six direct reports, composed of a Health and Fitness Coordinator, Operations Coordinator, Learn to Swim Coordinator, Frontline Coordinator, Programs Coordinator and Administration Assistant.

This role works hours that is dependent on the operational needs of the business. This includes early mornings and late evenings as well as weekends.


About you:


With your extensive people management skills and previous experience in the industry, you will be able to work with and develop others.

You will also have sound contract management and financial management experience. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to prioritize tasks during the peak season.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Qualifications in Business and/or Management or equivalent
  • Experience in the management of a medium to large recreation facility
  • Broad knowledge of fitness, aquatics and recreation industries
  • Previous experience as an in a similar role
  • Contract management experience
  • First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Police check (paid for by the Y)

Our Recreation Team is a close-knit community of energetic people-people, with a passion for staying active and helping others.

From our Duty Managers and Customer Service Officers, to our Instructors and Coordinators, the team are responsible for transforming our 24 Recreation Centres into warm, inclusive and safe spaces - providing access to health, fitness and recreation opportunities for those who need it most.
