Description

We at Chandler Macleod are currently seeking an experienced OHS Business Partner to join one of our State Government clients located in Dandenong for a 6 month period.


This position is accountable for the provision of high level support, advice and customer service to support all employees to be healthy and safe at work.

As a OHS Business Partner, you will need to provide timely information and advice to respond effectively to COVID 19 incidents based on Public Health directions, the organisation's COVIDSafe Plan and related policies and procedures.


Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or other relevant discipline or subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of knowledge, training and experience.
  • Certified Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner (or higher) with the Australian Institute of Health & Safety or willingness to obtain certification.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Proven competency in the provision of expert OHS advice, excellent customer service and collaborative case management in a complex, multirisk environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, build strong internal relationships, influence through credibility and negotiate through organisational resistance.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise own workload and to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience in health and safety reporting, incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in policy development, implementation and coordination.
  • High level written skills and the capacity to prepare a range of papers, communications etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience working with People & Culture Business Partners and key stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to case management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OHS issues relevant to work activities and work area.

  • Certified copies of qualifications
