UGL Transport are looking for a passionate & enthusiastic
Commercial Manager to join our team.


Job Purpose

  • The role of the Commercial Manager is to drive the maximisation of project margin and mitigation of risk through robust precontract review and negotiation; and postcontract administration of all head contract, joint venture and subcontract commercial matters including payments, securities, disputes and guidance to project team members on obligations and rights.

Responsibilities


For allocated opportunities review head contract terms and conditions and assess compliance with UGL minimum acceptable terms and conditions, completing the required documentation for 'Gate C' approval.

From the head contract review identify contractual positions (Including payment terms, performance regimes, price escalation provisions, testing, approval or acceptance regimes) that have the potential to impact the costing, pricing, technical or operational solutions and ensure these are explained and communicated to the relevant Bid Team members

Effective contract management, including:
Ensuring UGL complies with the requirements of the head contract and joint venture agreement.
Sub-contractors and UGL meet respective sub-contract(s) requirements in full.
Support, work closely and effectively with Project Managers and Corporate Legal.

Administering the contract to ensure that all activities, responsibilities and obligations of the contract are met in a timely, accurate, effective and compliant matter.

Maintaining complete contractual records, correspondence, proposed changes to contracts, warranties, delays, extensions of time and other contract management functions as directed.


Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in a Law, Finance or Quantity Surveying discipline is essential.

Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial manager role in a large corporate with an engineering or maintenance services focus.

Experience in a contract management role within a projects environment, including negotiation of contracts, contract management and dispute resolution.
