THE ROLE - SAFETY OFFICER

As a Safety Officer you will facilitate and create all aspects of the employee's safety, and ensure that all legislation is adhered to, for the safety of everyone.

PRIMARY ROLE FOCUS

Health & Safety support to relevant business units.
Maintenance of safety management systems at site.
Execution of individual work task timely as assigned by the Safety Manager and/or Senior Manager Operations Safety, Risk and Compliance
Report progress update to your manager
Ensuring that all EHS business and individual responsibilities are met and monitored.
Ensuring that activities are performed safely, accurately and in accordance with legislative, company and customer requirements.
Building and maintaining effective, productive relationships with all stakeholders within the business for EHS.
Participate on Safety Person on Call within safety team on a rotational basis including weekdays after hours and weekends/public holidays.
Perform the functions of the Site Safety Officer
Maintain and review Safety documentation.
Provide relevant training and support to the business to continuously improve safety functions and operations
Taking reasonable care to protect your own and others health and safety.
Report, hazards, incidents and injuries /illness.
Adhere to EHS policies and procedures and comply with all instructions and requirements for EHS.
Observe all company policies and

procedures

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Previous experience in a safety role essential
Safety officer experience
Certificate III or above in OH&S
Prior Transport Industry knowledge advantageous
Knowledge of relevant legislations and act
Computer and software capabilities
Ability to learn in house systems quickly
Highly organised
High level of accuracy
MS Office Suite (intermediate / advanced)
