Our industry-leading client is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join their friendly team in Dandenong South.

As a Purchasing officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the purchasing and inventory management processes, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.


Responsibilities:


  • Purchasing Support:
  • Assist Sales & Warehouse with product purchasing, planning, forecasting, and shipment schedules.
  • Conduct sales analysis and contribute to inventory control measures to avoid stock shortages.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide stock movement analysis, reporting, and purchase order quantity recommendations.
  • Purchase Order Management:
  • Generate purchase orders, delivery instructions, and goods receipting in the system, while calculating costs accurately.
  • Follow up on goods receipt and obtain proof of delivery.
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and receipted for HACCP purposes, product costs (using Excel), and supplier information.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Support the company's sales forecasting process.
  • Assist in the replenishment/ordering process and contribute to maintaining safe stock levels.
  • Prepare reports on purchasing and inventory usage.
  • Import/Export Coordination:
  • Liaise with customs agents and other thirdparty providers as secondary support.
  • Coordinate shipment of goods and shipping documentation for AQIS compliance.
  • Assist in liaising with AQIS to ensure a smooth import process.
  • Other Responsibilities:
  • Monitor shipment ETA's and work with the Inventory Manager & Suppliers to reduce delivery lead times.
  • Take part in companywide stocktake activities.
  • Assist in various adhoc projects as required.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, establish, and process contracts.
  • Must be proficient in both Chinese and English
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
