About Casual Operational Services:


Casual operational services play an important role supporting school efficiency; maintaining specified facilities, grounds and services within the school environment.


CECG casuals who have approval to work nominate their schools of preference and availability through our simple to use Casual Relief System and may be called upon on a needs basis by Catholic Schools within the Archdiocese of Canberra Goulburn.

Casual appointments can range from two hours to several weeks at a single school, college, or early learning centre.

Who can apply:


  • Qualified trades; and
  • Suitably experienced nontrade accredited applicants (minimum 2 years experience)

Selection Criteria:


Suitable applicants will demonstrate:

  • A commitment to the goals of Catholic education and a readiness to foster the aims and vision in the wider school community;
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills so as to engage positively with colleagues and students;
  • Initiative and the ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently, and have the flexibly to adjust to changing situations.

  • Certification of qualifications (where applicable);
  • Contact details of three professional referees;
  • Proof of identification either Current passport; OR Birth Certificate AND Current Drivers License.


Please note that casual approval does not guarantee employment with Catholic Education Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn; approval makes you eligible to work casually as a Teacher within Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn.
