Position Information:


Granville Public School, located in Western Sydney, has a student enrolment of 639 from Preschool to Year 6, and 7 Special Education Support Unit Classes.

The school culture is that of connectedness, inclusion, and belonging, with students, staff, parents, and the wider community working together to promote school excellence.

The school caters for a diverse community, evident in the cultural backgrounds of students who attend our school. Over 95% of our students are from a non-English speaking background.


Our committed teaching staff, encompassing experienced and early career teachers, is dedicated to working collaboratively to provide high-quality teaching and learning programs that are inclusive and differentiated to cater for student needs.

Staff collaborate to develop and implement evidence-based teaching and learning programs.


An integral part of the school is the Community Hub and Community Liaison Officer, which assists in developing strong positive relationships between the school and the community, with experiences for parents and school community members to actively participate in and contribute to the education and wellbeing of students.


Selection Criteria:


  • Approval to teach primary English as a Second Language or currently completing or currently enrolled in an approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a Second Language primary as recognised by the NSW Department of Education
  • Demonstrated expertise to develop and implement differentiated, data-driven teaching and learning programs K-6, using knowledge of the EAL/D Learning Progression and ESL Scales, that cater for the needs of learners from diverse backgrounds, including New Arrival students
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and develop programs to support English as an Additional Language or Dialect students.
  • Willingness to support and deliver culturally inclusive initiatives to engage the students, staff, and school community to enhance positive home/ school partnerships

Special Notes:


If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a Second Language (primary or secondary) as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 12 months.
