The Role


Established in 2012, Pinnacle Drinks exclusively partners winemakers, growers, brewers and distillers to deliver some of the world's leading brands across the wine, beer and spirit categories.

Pinnacle Drinks exclusively supplies these brands to BWS, Dan Murphys, and the ALH Group.

Whilst Pinnacle focuses on partnering first, owned facilities include a five-star James Halliday rated winery in the Barossa Valley (Dorrien Estate), cellar doors, retaurants, vineyard & winemaking facilities in the Marlborough, Yara Valley and Tasmanian wine regions, and a state-of-the-art packaging & bottling operation in South Australia (Vinpac International).


The key focus of the role will be:

  • Business partnering with site leaders to provide insights, and prepare annual capex & opex budgets
  • Prepare timely financial reporting and analysis for local management and Endeavour
  • Maintain the financial integrity of the Pinnacle results

What You'll be Doing

  • Proactively business partnering with site leaders to analyse monthly results, gather information and provide insights to improve performance and spend management
  • Work with a small team to deliver monthend processes for Pinnacle Wine entities
  • Maintain and analyse the fixed asset register for Pinnacle Wine Services entities and monitor capital spend against budgets
  • Prepare the capital budget and work with a small team to prepare the operating expense budgets, and update monthly forecasts
  • Driving and leading the implementation of opportunities for enhanced reporting and facilitating stakeholder adoption.
  • Leveraging the newly installed Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI to drive efficiencies and improve integrity of financial and operating results
  • Identify and effectively report balance sheet risk through the monthly preparation and review of general ledger reconciliations and drive improvements across the group
  • Undertake internal control testing and compile information for internal and external auditors, including explanation of movements in key accounts
  • Liaise with the central Property and Tax teams to monitor and maintain appropriate entries and balances in the Pinnacle ledgers ensuring correctness and compliance with group accounting standards.
  • Other duties as required

A Bit About You

  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and evaluate and organise to gain business insights
  • Ability to think end to end across the Pinnacle business, using commercial acumen and relationships across the group to bring collective insights
  • Degree qualification and CA/CPA.
  • Good systems skills with ERPs
  • Advanced Excel capability
  • Retail or Drinks industry experience desirable
  • Worked with MS D365 also desirable
