We are a busy neighbourhood "Italian Street Food and Pizza Bar" on the corner of Bendigo Street and Malvern Road Prahran - everything here is beautifully set out and is a fab place to spend part of your day

We would love for you to join our small and passionate family based team revelling in serving up consistently excellent coffee and tea based drinks from our lovely new Sane Remo F18 coffee machine and simple, seasonal, delicious authentic Italian home style cooking for our following of super wonderful customers....

About the role:

This role calls for min 2 years of proven Barista experience in espresso-based and speciality coffee and milk based drinks and experience and the ability to confidently and consistently make such hot and cold drinks in a similar style venue, with efficiency, well organised workflow, cleanliness and professionalism even in our busiest times.

RSA in addition will be very highly regarded.

Also to assist in the general operations of the Front of House, to participate in maintaining a good flow of service and to ensure that the Barista area and FOH environment is always clean and compliant with food premises and workplace safety legislation.

Daily operations of this position will include to:

• make and serve authentic Italian style espresso based coffees, teas and other hot and cold speciality drinks to a consistently high standard in accordance with our drinks menu and recipes

- work effectively as an enthusiastic and organised team member in a fast paced, high volume environment with exceptional barista skills (dialing in grinders, milk heating and foaming, correct presentation of beverages for take away and dine in, always maintaining high quality and trouble-shooting etc.)
- have a strong professional work ethic, high attention to detail and cleanliness with a customer focused and positive attitude at all times and with a deep understanding of the importance of properly made and presented coffees, hot and cold specialty drinks
- assist in preparing the food items on our products list to our traditional recipes for sale in particular our traditional Italian street food items and authentic Italian sweet pastries
- maintain a clean, sanitised and hygienic work environment in the Barista area - keeping the espresso machine and coffee grinder always impeccably clean and operational throughout the shift, carrying out the daily through detailed clean of the coffee machine and grinder prior to the end of each shift
- ensuring the Barista area stocked of all drinks, packaging, FOH items and keeping all counters impeccably clean
- perform work in accordance with safe food handling legislation, workplace safety and all other applicable legislation
- assist with FOH support and prepping for other products when not performing Lead Barista duties
- work with the business owners to plan and cost all drinks items on the menu as required
- share our passion for authentic Italian produce and consistently excellent customer service

Ability to commute/relocate:

Must be able to reliably commute to our workplace for the start of each shift and must be able to work legally in Australia including with necessary visas already in place.

Experience:

High motivation with at least 2 years coffee and other hot cold beverage making experience.

Experience with Sanremo F18 coffee machine or any Sanremo model and with the Mazzer Robur S grinder will be very highly regarded.
