- Partnering and stakeholder engagement across various business units regarding compliance requirements for new and existing products across all Exclusive Brands branded) categories, ensuring product specifications are compliant to Australian industry standards and best practice
- Acting as a first point of contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for product safety or regulatory queries and matters
- Ensuring quality and compliance standards are documented and maintained for every SKU within the Exclusive Brands range of products, and any other products requested under 's portfolio of brands
- Ensuring company products, policies and documentation are compliant with Australian regulations
- Proactively identify and manage potential risks to the business through regular audits, ensuring up to date industry trends and recalls, and working with the business on recommendations and resolutions
- Assessing and reviewing of all imported and domestic goods for compliance against all relevant Australian regulations and regulatory bodies, including but not limited to; Australian Consumer Law, Trade Measurement, Safety, ACCC, ACMA and relevant Government bodies
- When required, developing and implementing compliance programs and policies tailored to Australian laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and industry best practices
- Stay up-to-date with Australian federal, state, and local laws and regulations that impact the retail industry, and ensuing 's compliance
- Provide training and education as the SME across the standards and relevant requirements
- Support with ESG, Modern Slavery and Ethical Sourcing reporting and requirements
- Provide training and education to team members on compliance and quality when required
- University Degree qualified in a relevant field
- Experienced in product compliance and quality, preferably within an eCommerce, Retail or FMCG environment
- Strong knowledge of Australian laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the retail sector, including consumer protection laws, safety regulations, and competition laws
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to assess complex situations, identify potential risks, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies aligned with Australian legal requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and communicate compliance requirements to employees at all levels of the organization
- Able to work autonomously with exceptional attention to detail and time management
- Committed to fostering a culture of understanding and awareness of compliance and quality

Our Finance Team has a fantastic career opportunity for a Risk and Compliance Specialist to join the team and play a key role within the business Reporting to our Finance Director, this role is vital in assessing and managing risk, implementing compliance measures, and partnering with the team on compliance requirements for new and existing branded products.
An integral role in our team, you will partner closely with our Purchasing, Marketplace and Product Testing teams to ensure that maintains our high compliance with Australian laws, regulations, and industry standards.
